Listen up ladies (and gents)! My incredibly fabulous friend E just told me about one of the coolest things ever and since I’m sure yall wanna join the cool club, here’s what ya need to do:
Go to http://shop.everychild.gavialliance.org/shop (I promise, it will take 30 seconds and you won’t have to share any personal info) and download the EZ shopper widget in the upper right hand corner. (Seriously do it. Now, please.) That’s all you have to do.
Why? (Because I said so, of course.) And because now when you shop online a percentage of your shopping automatically goes toward GAVI’s mission “to save children’s lives and protect people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries.” To read more about GAVI, visit the site here.
So now, say you were to go to Nordstrom.com to take advantage of their Half Yearly SALE (yup, it’s that time of year again!), you would see something like this:
See that little note in the bottom right hand corner of the window? It tells you that 2.5% of all your purchases at Nordstrom go to GAVI. Shopping and saving lives at the same time – absolutely nothing wrong with that! And this works at 300+ retailers (with varying percentages from each retailer going to GAVI). This is all thanks to Corine Couwenberg, President and Founder of nonprofitshoppingmall.com – a fabulous, fabulous concept. Simply pick the nonprofit organization you want to help and go shopping!
Speaking of this Nordstrom Half Yearly SALE business…

I might have been perusing a little (ok, a lot), and I found this picture buried on the site. It is totally the look I’m loving right now (minus the turtleneck). Lots of black – because no matter how hard I try to integrate more color into my wardrobe, it will always be predominantly black, various textures, multi-layered chains, statement cuffs/rings, exposed zippers… It’s like classic/edgy/chic all at the same time and rides that line between night/day wear so well. So taking advantage of this sale of course, here’s how I’m channeling the look:
Alexander Wang Knit & Velvet Dress (Was $420, Now $249)
Alexander Wang is a genius. Love the play with textures and it’s sassy and sophisticated at the same time…
REPORT Signature ‘Watts’ Pump (Was $195, Now $130)
I started crushing on these shoes weeks ago when I saw them on Outblush, and now they’re on sale!
Juicy Couture ‘Black & Stone’ Cocktail Ring (Was $98, Now $73)
Juicy usually turns out a pretty good selection of fun cocktail rings, and this is no exception.
Cara Couture Multi Strand Chain Necklace (Was $98, Now $65)
I’m probably drawn to this because it looks kinda similar to the beautiful Gemma Redux necklace Z got me for my bday… but who’s to say a girl can have too many chains?
Nordstrom Chain Cuff Bracelet (Was $58, Now $38)
I think I love me a statement cuff more than a statement necklace. Perhaps because it seems more unexpected?
